The Réminiscences project is a serie of silkscreen prints on metal. The portraits of ancient statues from the Mediterranean world are based on images I have taken during my travels in the
Mediterranean (southern Italy/Greece). This gallery of portraits is presented in the form of a contemporary metope, where each of the protagonists bears witness to his or her presence.
These spectral portraits bear witness to a culture marked by mythological fragments, insistent glances and more or less extinct places. Figures from the past, they inhabit the space and confront the viewer’s gaze. A way of reviving the memory of a bygone era, where the viewer is in the position of the watched.
